dog house destroyer

I have a 6 year old male that has started to chew his dog house apart. two of them destroyed in the last month. He has been in the same dog house for his entire life, up until I had to build him one two weeks ago. I can't find any remnants of the lumber. He is eating and drinking fine. if anything he is eating better than in the past as before a feeding would sit there for awhile before sometimes a day before he would eat it. Now he waits by his dish at feeding time to be fed.
The only difference is he is in a kennel in between a male and a female before he was in a kennel off by himself. Is this a dominance thing trying to prove he is the alpha?
