Attention UKC: Indiana Hunts

It has been brought to my attention that the state of Indiana after July 23 will require you submit a plan to the local health department for any gatherings of 250 or more people. Are yaw aware of this because it directly affects Autumn Oaks, Zones, World Hunt and National Bluetick Days? Do you have someone working on the plan Now and will be submitted ASAP to the appropriate health depts in the area the hunts are to be held? And do you have a backup plan being worked up for a resubmittle if the first one gets shot down? I know a lot of folks want to know as I do because we put a lot of time, planning and money into attending these hunts. Thanks ahead of time for replying as quickly as you can and keeping us informed as things develop.

I would think that the outside grounds activity would be fairly easy but confirming entries and calling out of casts might present some problems. Maybe staggering out or dividing groups into separate spots might help.
The Bench show plan might be a nightmare. Maybe only allowing participants to enter the arena when their class is called might help. Are their 250 entries in the Bench show?
You might also be able to utilize both buildings for confirmations and calling out of casts.
Moving the Breed Associations outside under tents also might help.
There are a lot of ways to configure things that surely would conform to any guidelines. I bet that Allen and Todd will be able to come up with a plan. It might require a lot more work on their part and they might have to hire some additional staff but I bet that they get it accomplished. That Gingerich guy is a pretty fart smeller.

Oh my goodness, the locals hated the PKC World being held in Aurora and the Kentucky Wildlife tried every way they could to run them off.
Every year that I have attended AO the Head of the Chamber of Commerce has given a very nice speech welcoming everyone. And every person that I have come into contact with has been just as nice as they could be. I have never had a problem finding a spot to pleasure hunt during the week before. I love going up to Richmond to hunt. I went to the Wal Mart once and 2 different people told me they had places that I could hunt.

The wife and her show dog partner show in akc. They are starting back up in a few weeks, only people allowed in the building are the handlers and anyone on the registration papers. That's it.

I would be willing to bet that number is 3-4 times higher during the daytime, especially on Friday and Saturday

Outdoors doesn't count. Everyone will just have to observe social distancing.

Steve, we have staff designated to monitor all mandates as they relate to the State of Indiana and Autumn Oaks. Secondly, weekly meetings are being held working on plans to accommodate any required mandates etc.. I think we've got a good handle on the current requirements and or could be up against.

You're correct, current status is Phase 4.5 requiring a plan of action and approval by the local health department for crowds larger than 250. Pray that IN advances to Phase 5 before Labor Day. That would help eliminate obstacles.

Regardless, AO will look a little different this year, for sure.

It will be mandated in Wayne County Indiana starting July 25th in all indoor buildings and it is also required outside when you cannot maintain 6 foot of social distancing.

I’ve been several places and in different counties that mask are “mandated”, let’s just say it was business as usual.

Not everywhere.... But for most places they can put these mandates on paper ... But no cop is going to actually go and enforce it. No cop wants to be the mask police... And no prosecutor would take the charge to court. These mask requirements are for politicians to say they did something, and local governments to petition the federal government for relief funding.

Not so , it's the norm for me to be in 5-10 different counties or 3 different state on any given day ......I deliver freight all over and it's not business as usual, these mandates r here to stay, for awhile anyways.
It's a big inconvenience to say the least, I forget my mask and I can't gain entry to make my deliveries... Retail, manufacturering, healthcare facilities.....doesn't matter. So mask up.....sooner or later u r going to have too.

That has so been my experience, and I’ll only wear a mask as a last resort. Someone telling me to wear a mask is like telling me to wear a condom, that should be my choice. I don’t ask anyone to take theirs off, should be mutual in return.

It's good to know you don't ask people to take off condoms, keeping it mutual. LOL!
