World Hunt Interview #5 Brian Reece

Jimmy and Brian Reece with NITECH'PR'CANE CREEK BLK BEE

Who are the sire and dam, and what can you tell us about them? Why did you choose a hound from this line

Brian: Bee's sire is GrNtCh KY River Batman and a female owned by Randy Scaggs named NtCh Scaggs Black Bea. We got out of the breeding thing some time back and Bat was out of Nute and he was from the Gauge dog who was a full brother to our Setum Up Ace dog, so that didn't hurt anything in our mind, lol. Bat's bottom side went back to Bruce and Johnny's dogs and I had hunted with all those dogs and was just familiar with his pedigree. Plus, Micah, Shayne, Tony, and Flop have all worked hard to promote this line of dogs, and we like the fact that the dogs out of him have been consistent winners.

How did you get your hound started as a young dog, and what did you do to prepare her for the World Hunt?

Brian: I didn't get her started, lol. Micah Ayers can tell you more about that. We first seen her at the Batman Hunt when she was a pup and really liked her and we were able to get her awhile after that. As far as getting her ready for the World, I can't thank our friend Eddie Muse enough for helping us out and doing what he does for us.

How did your Zone casts play out?

Brian: The zone hunt was enjoyable, but our hunt wasn't real impressive, lol! I had a dead cast on Friday, and it looked to be the same on Saturday. but, we treed 2 in the last 30 minutes, and got a cast win. I hunted with a great group of guys, both nights and had a good cast.

Anything else you’d like to add?

Brian: I want to wish everyone that's going to Ohio good luck, and I would like to thank Eddie Muse again for helping me out. I would most of all like to thank my mom and dad, Judy and Jimmy Reece. Momma takes excellent care of these dogs, and ever since I can remember, my daddy has kept a pretty good B&T around here!
