World Hunt Interview #4 Greg Goodin
Greg Goodin and Dennis Hartley with CH NITECH'PR'SCHENKER ESTES SMOKIN DAN
Who are the sire and dam, and what can you tell us about them? Why did you choose a hound from this line
Greg: His sire is Schenker and Estes Smoking Jake, and I'm not sure who the dam is. I chose the hound because he had a lot of the characteristics we like in a hound. James Lacey from Skiatook, OK came for a hunt with his walker female and knew I liked black dogs, so he told me about him, and I went and got him a few days later. After he made dual champion and I had hunted him a little, I asked Dennis Hartley from Buffalo, TX if he wanted to partner on Dan.
How did you get your hound started as a young dog, and what did you do to prepare him for the World Hunt?
Greg: He was started I believe by a farmer who starts dogs for George Estes and Bill Schenker (my best recollection of my conversation with George), but you'd have to ask George for sure. To prepare him for the World Hunt, he spent the summer in Texas with Denny, then I picked him up and took him to Autumn Oaks.
How did your Zone casts play out?
Greg: Jake Perry from Stillwater, OK handled him in the Zones, and you'd have to ask him about the cast.
Micah: Good luck to everyone the rest of the way.
