I think the father-in-law made her marry me. Matter of fact. I don't remember proposing. But, 20 years later I guess it's too late to turn back.

My wife's dad was a coonhunter, he and I hunted many nights together, I really miss him. He was a fine man and real good dog trainer, he loved starting pups, something I hated. Lol. He always told me that a trained dog would eventually disappoint you [ they will ], but everything good a pup done was exciting, like treeing it's first coon, ETC. Dave

I had one. But I liked him more than my Daughter did and she got rid of him. LOL Me and him carried his Son (My Grandson) to a tree many a night. Looking from my window now, across the yard at some Dog Pens him and I built some 25 years ago.
I saw a good guy that would hunt anytime I wanted to go. We would run coon dogs all night and deer dogs all day. My Daughter saw a guy that didn't want to do nothing but hunt.
I told her that is all I wanted to do also. She said, Yea Dad but you also have enough sense to work between hunts. He doesn't.

So Mike, my thoughts are. I hope your Daughters are as Lucky as you are with their choices. LOL

Our son-in-law Matt bought his first coonhound pup a few months ago before he married our daughter Miranda he had never been catfishing much less coonhunting. Our other daughter Ashton's boyfriend Tyler an avid coonhunter. On Friday night he took her on a date, last night he took her to a hunt lol.
