Caliber is made by Specialty Feeds in Memphis,TN. They are the same company that makes Valu-Pak, Rex, and Tops. Not a bad feed, the puppy feed is great, been using it on a pup since Dec, and just started another on it. Pups look great on it and not much clean up compared to other puppy foods I've use in the past.

If my dog needed a full gas tank against a bayed lion I don't think this is the feed I would pick. I have tried it and i don't put my dogs thru what you do gary, if they are hunted hard they fall off, BAD! Your dogs may handle it fine, who knows? All you can do is try. Good luck.

I am not planning to try it but had a salesman come by when I was in the Navajo Nation last week that was wanting me to try it. I am still have good success with Black Gold 26-18 and not looking to change. It was just a brand that I had never heard of and I was wanting to know if anyone was feeding it and what they thought.
Thanks for all the replies, now I go the information that I was looking for.
Adios,
Gary

.

Gary, I have access to several feeds but i dont sell any out of the store. But i do get some for friends. The caliber feed is liked by several people in this area. The area rep use to work for black gold and swears that caliber and black gold is the same feed. I am trying value pak 24/20 right now and have 7 dogs and puppies on it. At some point i might try the grain free value pak if i feel i need a change.

Bruce, ironically that is about the same story that I have. A young man who had worked with Black Gold several years ago is saying the same thing, that it is about the same as Black Gold. My dogs do great on BG, so I am not looking to make a change.
My dealer ran out of BG and I had to purchase a couple of bags of Joy 24-20. My dogs did not want to eat it and seem to be passing more through.
Adios,
gary
