Tips on getting a dog to hunt wider?!?

Does anyone have any tips on how to get my hound to hunt wider? She is now only hunting about 100-150 yards away.

Probly set in her ways then. I don't know what your hunting is like do they have to hunt deep to strike a coon ? Try cutting her across openings where it's a ways to the woods but at that age I would do no whooping on her.

I would call Wild Willy. I use to think it was impossible to get one to hunt out wider. He has his own way. He wires there mind to do it by tricking them to go hunting. Then they build muscle memomory.

I would take her straight to the woods from her kennel...no running around just drive up to some good open woods and make sure you are a good ways in...turn her loose and let her hunt...walk slow and stop...if she comes in move a ways and stop...chances are she will get bored and range out further...

If you are on a 4 wheeler...again move slow...if you are roading her pay close attention to what she is doing...if she trails into the woods wait on her to come back or until she is moving away on a track or treeing before going to her...she will build confidence knowing you are always around...
