I am officially a Garmin junkie!!

The last 6 months have converted me into a 100% card carrying Garmin junkie.

I've always laughed about how wrapped up folks are in these things when hunting and I realized last night at 12:03 am when me and old Big Iron had a serious discussion about trees and coons. I am dependent on this little hand held device like I never thought possible.

When I cut a switch and sent him on off that bad tree at 12:03 am and the frost was settling everywhere I had absolutely not one bit of concern. Totally because of that box.

At 12:21 I shot a coon out to him about 300 yards deeper, that I believe was the same track and coon.. Was very proud of him for making a mistake, taking his medicine and finishing it right..

Only Mistake in 6 trees last night over 4 hours of hunting. I can live with that. But I won't let him slide

Without the Garmin, would I have taken the easy way out because of the cold and frost ? I was froze, tired and ready to quit, but because of the technology available It was a much easier decision to make.

I remember the old days well and you never knew what would happen in that situation..

Thinking about taking him to town tonight to a UKC hunt and can't hardly abide the thought of having to run a 320 and DC 50 on him.. That Alpha is a fricking amazing tool. I'm not a Garmin rep, but by golly I believe in them.

FWIW. my opinion. Tired rambling, gonna work on taxes and take a nap!!

I like it when it tells you that the dog is on his own covered track. You tell right quick if he is having trouble figuring out what to do.
