Acha World Hunt

People keep talking about low numbers at the hunts for UKC it could be worse.. My cousin went to the ACHA WORLD HUNT Wednesday and they only had 32 dogs and Thursday night they only had 24 dogs.. That's disappointing

ACHA did it to themselves.back in the seventies they would hunt five to six hundred dogs a night.they sold out then done the unthinkable.

ACHA was making a strong come back about 10 -12 years ago thanks to Harry Harris who put a ton of time into ACHA but unfortunately there were a few that had to have total control and forced Harry Out when that happened it started to decline rapidly

Good luck finding them because the ACHA website hasn't been updated since they had the little world hunt back in October. My cousin has been involved a lot and trying to help get things going again, but I haven't noticed much changes myself. Takes 2 months or better just to get paper's back after you register them. I guess that's what happens when it's all volunteers instead of actual workers handling thing's

I live 30 minutes from the acha world. I didn't go, and have not seen any casts out hunting. Figured the numbers were low. Maybe I'll see some out tonight ? I don't understand why top 16 hunt late tonight(Friday) and final 4 go out early tomorrow, why not have top 16 hunt early tomorrow then final 4 go out late ?

I would think that would be the way to do it so everyone could get home a day sooner. I don't even think they had 16 cast winners

Did they have 16 casts? I would be shocked if they did

Get in wed and thurs and not hunt early Friday and take a fresh dog to the late round Friday to hunt against dogs that just came off a cast. Not my club, they can do whatever they want. I didn't even go to the hunt so I have no room to talk.

It’s sad. We had world hunt and little world 10 years back, then neighboring club had it. Had a good time at both. When we got it in Glasgow was a good time. Stanford was down bad.

I learned at the meeting in Stanford, Ky that if you had any idea differing from the few Chiefs you may as well talk to the floor.

It shows. I don’t even know why they go on.

You can still try and qualify yet tonight for the top 16. My cousin sent me a text saying he is trying again tonight to get in and he took 2 dogs with him as well as others that are there

I'd say all it will take is a cast win to be in top 16

I tried for about 4 years (2013-2017) to resurrect it. Spent tens of thousands of $$$ of my own money to try to make it work. I paid for the new website to be built and maintained it myself. Just too many people with different agendas. I finally had to resign just to save my own sanity. I loved the history of the ACHA.

I remember when it was THE HUNT, so sad to see how it has degraded. Wish you had been sucessful in your attempt to restore it to glory. Dave

Bad decisions,
When will they open there eyes.
Need changes
I still love the ACHA,
This is a world hunt, put the money back up. And get it in the right place.
Not many going to hunt a world hunt and not know what the pay out is, will never work

LIVING IN THE PAST!!!!!!!!!!!

ACHA is currently run by people that think the organization needs to return to the 70's and 80's when ACHA was THE WORLD HUNT!
That old philosophy of "our way or the highway" is what opened the door for PKC to prosper. PKC listened and gave the hunters what THEY WANTED.
Mr Gathright and Mr Beebe tried to turn ACHA around but there is a cancer in the organization that won't let it grow. The people behind my removal did it their way and when if failed miserably they jumped ship.
ACHA has never rebounded.
