I'm a BIG fan of the SS hunts but after lasts years number of no fills, I figured they were done. Doing away with preentry and taking all entries at the event can reduce the payout with a bad split but I think it will greatly increase interest in these events.
Supposedly, everyone wants to hunt for money. Well, here's your chance to put your money where your mouth is.

i can see some interest in the s.s. hunts picking up for the ones that have 100 $ entry fee . just a mini slam type hunt put on with different set of rules and higher entry fee . clubs getting enough non hunting judges without knowing how many folks are going to be the problem . what happens when you have only 4 non judges enough for 4 cast of 16 dogs and 30 dogs show up to enter .i for one would not enter or travel to a hunt with 100 $ entry fee and have to be judged by a hunting judge in the first round with out being able to mark a tree and take a panel to a disputed tree that i felt was wrongly score .

Are SS hunts counted against the clubs 7 allowed hunts per year? I hope not.
My dogs don't hit many UKC hunts these days but I try to hit every SS within 100 miles. I just wish there were more of them. Most of the clubs around here, including mine did one and never again.

I think maybe because so few filled. Beyond that, I have no idea. You would think in todays climate of low entries, for the revenue available to the club, they should all schedule one.
