Wheat Lights

Here are the Wheat Lights that I owned at one time. The first had a black battery. It was the first Wheat Light.

The second one, had a shoulder strap, and it was my favorite.

I one the 3rd light.

I went from a motorcycle battery with a rayovac head to the wheat light ( those ) to the night lite hot light man I was in high cotton then. To the belt light with 5100 head to the led head back to the 5100 head I ordered a led cap light the other day but probly will stick with the 5100 head old traditions are hard to brake like eating at SAMs at the Texas state hunt lol.

The old hand wheat light was the first good light I had, it was a hand me down from my brother. Bobby I think Tommy Braswell all ways used the hand held wheat light. Tommy n Randy n your Dad were true coon hunters! JesseJ

Thank you.

Randy was my grandfather.
Tommy was my uncle (Randy's brother).

I have Tommy's last Wheat Light and yes, it was a handheld.

Bobby I judge Randy, Gene Underwood n someone else I can't remember out of the Bowie Club. Creeks were flooded n the dogs treed across the creek, I swim across the creek n got the dogs.Gene told Master of Hounds they had the best judge for doing that. Randy's Rose female treed a coon five minutes after the hunt time, they just don't make COONHUNTERS like them anymore! I have a lot of great memories of them! I never hunted with OL Timber but I heard he was a COONDOG. JesseJ

You have a great memory!!!

Randy was a mess!! When he was young, he had a bad temper!! LOL. His Rose female was a pretty nice little hound.

Those were the good days for sure. Our monthly club hunt would hunt 30 dogs. Our UKC hunt would hunt 75-80 dogs.
Harry Lister, Jimmy Baker, Gene, Sid Underwood, Houston Love to just name a few. Harry was my favorite.

Timber was a coondog. Dad bought him from Tommy when he was a year old pup, for $100 after he ran a deer one night.
I have his 7 generation pedigree framed and on my wall. GrNt and Texas State Champion when they hunted 400 - 500 dogs. Dad sold him when he was 5 years old for $2,500 in 1977 to a man in Alabama just to be pleasure hunted. Timber lived to be nearly 14.
