TT15 GPS issue- Bruce

Hey Bruce, i was hoping you could help me with an issue with one of my TT15's... i contacted Garmin about it to which they were no help....

The collar shows good communication with the handheld and good GPS signal while close- has the 2 green blinks showing acquired satellite connection. shortly there after, once the collar is away from the handheld, it goes down to no or 1 bar on GPS signal. maintains full communication signal with the handheld though, and full battery.

yesterday as soon as the dog got farther than 50 foot away from me, she was gone- lost signal on her completely and never picked her back up. even after i finally caught her and she was in the dog box.

. Performance Program Question

Probably not going to be much help but here is what I would check. Make sure the long antenna is in good condition and not chewed up. Make sure the antenna connection to the battery housing is clean. When you take the 4 screws out make sure you keep track of where the short one came from and don't try to stick a long screw in place of the short one.

Garmin probably had you update it already but if not. Try that. After you do a master reset.

Probably will end up sending it back to Garmin for replacement which is about $100. Unless it is under warranty.

i checked the GPS antenna on top of collar, that was good. the VHF antenna is brand new and good. the wire that connects the GPS antenna to body of collar is good under the plastic... unit is up to date and im going to try the master reset and see if that helps

attempted master reset- the collar beeped when pressed 4 times while plugged in but never changed to green then back red. collar seems to be getting a better GPS signal, but wont know how it does at greater distances or in brush till i get off work
