The one I remember was Dual Gr. I believe he was out of Tenn or SW Va. Houndy looking dog with a nice head and ears. Had semi course coat, big deep bawl mouth and a bawl/chop on tree. I think he was 7 or 8 yrs old when I hunted with him.. Been a long time ago but I do remember he was a nice steady dog. I've forgotten what his ped was. I'd be interested if anyone knew what it was. He kind of had the Ole Bruiser look but I don't know if that was in him...

Rock

sire Lick Creek Bud dam Ramblin Julie my ped doesn't go back any further sorry. I know Gerald Hacker a black dog man for over 60 yrs has titled all his Hounds Lick Creek such and such .looking at my pedigree seems Rock had a pretty big role to play in many of the top titled black and tans of today even though both parents were untitled purple ribbon bred.

I'm pretty sure that Rock was owned by John Wood in Monticello IN.

I'm thinking Randy Scaggs might have owned him at one point as well or he at least bred to him.

Scaggs Queen was bred to him and produced Wheeler's Ozark Hammer who went on to sire Nelson's Buck, Slammer and Misty II.

But thats a long time ago....

John Woods owned him and him and Randy Skaggs was very good friends. At around that time I believe Randy was stationed here in Indiana.

I think Jr Jordan from Tennessee had him first he also had several other Cypress creek hounds in the 70s and 80s. if I am right Rock was a smaller built hound based on conversation with Jr
