Ratio

Ratio makes a difference.
Mix 1 quart hydrogen peroxide, ¼ cup baking soda, and 1 teaspoon dish-washing liquid.
Any ratio may help a little. The correct ratio neutralizes it.

You need to use the solution soon. If you try to store it, it loses it's ability to neutralize.

You can keep the collar under water while you wash it, wouldn't recommend keeping dog under water while you wash him. LOL!

Skunk

Hang your collar in a tree and spray it down with scent-a-way spray that deer hunters use.
Best thing we have ever found.

Regular old vinegar works good. The acid neutralizes the odor that's the same idea as tomato juice it's the acid that works. I've tried all kind of concoctions but just plain vinegar on the dog or equipment.

i hear skunk and muskrat hides will bring more $ than coons this year . my pap hunted skunks in the great depression era to feed his family . a good skunk dog was highly sot after . skunks are one of the toughest game i have ever tried to break a hound for . if a couple good sprays dont break them it is most likely a losing battle . good luck . time is the only thing i ever found effective for the smell .
