I hate to see that timber cut. They cut close to the road so it looks like there is a lot more cut then there actually is. Although we hate to see it it does improve the timber for the wildlife if done correctly. The old growth parts of the timber just doesn't have a whole lot of food source other than acorns and thats just a short time out of the year. Hack berry, grapes, bugs and fishing is about the only other thing because its all shaded out. Its enough for a great coon population, but the rest of the animals all live toward the edges of the refuge.
