Who to breed this female to...

Just bought my once in a lifetime hound back after looking for her for 2yrs. Were going to try to get one last litter out of her and we want to make it a good one and get the pups in good hands. Shes a hard tree dog, super loud, a ton of drive. Just wasnt ever put in the hunt's as a young dog unfortunately. I'm torn between going with a young hotshot dog or going with some old blood. Looking for some opinions. Thank you all!

Go with Lippers Money Maker. I had Bounty the Bounty dog your female is out of. If you like what he threw you will like what Maker is showing to be throwing in his first crop of pups

I notice she is titled as gr ch . Is she a show dog are a once in a lifetime coon treeing female as that will make a difference Imo , if your looking for coon dogs there are quite a few that should and would cross well on her for show pups there are propably only a few that have Ben proven to give and reproduce show dogs and Imo they aren't the best pick for wanting working dogs

I should have mentioned that I in my first post! Shes a coondog, she was titled as a GRCH long before I got her . She was never pushed in the hunts when she was younger like she should have been. Considered trying to get her atleast ntch this time around owning her but shes probably too old to worry about it.

Agree

Didn't respond right off but that's what went thru my mindset, a true coondog with trackman with some habit or rat in it. Camo or train probably would be good choices. So would semen too if you choose that route. They'd probably be high powered pups, be ready to buckle up when turned loose.

It don't make any difference, its a crap shoot any way you go, til those pups are bmig enough to haul. Just find a dog with the traits you like and see what happens.

Check out Hobo's GR CH Swampmusic Big Hoss, he has two first place wins so far and one HTX pass. He is throwing some nice pups with all being young but starting to show up in the hunts now and throws some real lookers as well. Dohnoey Boone is his background

I second what dlinkous said about Hoss. Hunted with him earlier in the summer and he handles like a dream and is a coon dog. I have a 4 month old pup off hoss now. She has already opened on track and treed some with my older hound as well as run and tree drags. Hoss has been throwing some real nice pups and they look real nice also.

My best advice is don't go off of papers alone. Try and find a stud that has almost identical traits as your female. Yes you'll be spending some time and money to do it. But don't be afraid to tell the stud owner "he's not what I'm looking for". Give us the traits that you want to keep, the ones you might see might not be too easy to duplicate. But having a little more information will help to possibly point you in a direction of a possible stud.
