Some get frustrated that they can't get to the prey. But the dog you have, it she's chewing on the tree hard there's a coon in it. And she wasn't ever corrected for the chewing. But the way I always looked at it, if they're chewing they'll stay.

A lot of times it's a learned behavior, and sometimes it's hereditary. Her sire and dam never chewed. But not saying that they didn't have litter mates that did. I tried my best to get as much information on both. And no one I talked to mentioned it. One of the dogs she was hunted with on a regular basis chewed. About the same amount as she does.

I've seen a lot worse than her. Saw one dog chew a small tree down like a beaver.

Novicane , she makes my son a perfect dog. She trees coon , trash proof, and handles well. What more can we ask for? One drop tonight , and one treed coon.

Great!!!!! I know she's not perfect. Her dam wasn't either. But I've always liked her. Has she tangled with any porcupines up there? That was the only thing she ever had issues with. And she never would start the track but would join in on it. But if she does get into one, I'd just take her to the vet. The only time I've seen her get a bit unruly was when pulling quills.
