The hunt reports have to be sent back to UKC from the club hosting the event before they can update the points and issue you your championship degree. However, as long as you have 100 points on the bench, including a Best of Show with Competition, you can enter your dog in the next event you go to as a Champion even though you haven't received your championship degree paperwork from UKC. Just tell the official at the club who is taking the entries that you just finished the dog, they have to take your word for it. If you show in the wrong class then it is your fault and UKC would not honor that.
One time I got a BOS with competition, however the judge checked the wrong box and it showed me winning the wrong class in my breed. Ukc threw out the win and said that it was my fault for showing in the wrong class even though I didn't, the judge just checked the wrong box. That was a lesson for me to check more that to make sure the correct registration number is on the win slip.
