Quick Question-TT10-TT15 and Astro 430

Can a TT10 or a TT15 collar be used in a UKC night hunt, so long as you are using the Astro 430 hand held???

I'm thinking it can be but wasn't absolutely sure. Any input would be very much appreciated. Thank You!

I could be wrong, I usually am....but it is my understanding that no, you cannot use a collar that has "training" ability. What's to keep you from showing the one handheld, but having the Alpha in your pocket??? Or your spectator from carrying the Alpha to use in conjunction with those collars during the hunt???

Edit: Yep, I was wrong...on the scorecard it says under Rule 17:

Controlling Devices:
Any handheld device capable of controlling a dog (stimulating or toning) must
be left in vehicle and may not be used by handler or spectators until dog wearing
device is scratched and all other dogs are recovered for re-casting.

So, it reads like you can use those collars as long as the handheld that reads them cannot be used to activate the training feature. Or you could have the Alpha, but it has to stay at the truck while you are hunting.

Yep you can use it. I run a tt15 mini on mine and use a 430 during the hunt. If I can't get to him I go back to the truck, get the alpha and bring him in. Has worked great for me.

Thanks Guys for the information. I have been away from the comp hunts for about 3 years with knee reconstruction and now training a young dog that I'm not quite sure will make the grade for what I like in a comp hound LOL.

But even if she is not perform I will at least know that I can find her and take her home with me. LOL.

Thanks again!
