Liver colored Blueticks. What bloodline throw them?

Even though I believe they are beautiful, they are registered now as X bred. But what bloodlines throws them?

I got them from line bred Tahsuda,s Arkie dogs. I got some from a line bred Jet cross-I made the cross twice and got livered colored pups both times. I saw my first one in Texas in the early 1980's but did not find out how they were bred. Rod Rose got some off his dogs and he and I talked about these liver colored dogs.

There are some people who have gotten them and either do not talk about it or seek to blame whatever line of Blue dog they bred to but never their own.

Every liver colored dog I have seen had a red nose and white or red toenails. The Arkie bred female who produced some liver pups had a white toenail.

To this date none of the normal colored pups from litters that had some liver colored dogs have ever produced another liver colored dog. If people will be honest with you, you will find them in every line of our Blue dogs. Good luck!

UKC X-Bred

What is nice is that UKC allows these liver colored dogs to be registered as Cross Bred. What is even nicer, if that liver colored dog makes a coon treer, that liver colored Bluetick can be bred to a registered Bluetick, and the pups can be registered as full blooded Blueticks (which they really are). UKC made a good move allowing this in my opinion. Taking the focus off color and not penalizing a liver colored dog when it comes to reproducing.

I have seen some liver color pop up in line bred Runnin Bullet x Jet V individuals crosses with one another.

Dogs with an X-bred dog in their pedigree are eligible to be transferred to the breed when they have achieved an 80% purebred co-efficiency mark as long as the breed Association is open for breed transfer and the dog meets the breed standards. The breed association is supposed to notify UKC each year whether they are open for transfers or not. Is BBOA open to the breed transfers?

This is the way that I understand it.

Off colored dog from two Blueticks and then when eligible to be transferred back to Bluetick

----------PR Bluetick
-----Liver colored X bred
---------PR Bluetick
Eligible for breed transfer above 80%
----------PR Bluetick
-----PR Bluetick
----------PR Bluetick

Cross breeding and then when eligible to be transferred back to Bluetick with another breed being using:

---------------Walker
----------X Bred
---------------Bluetick
-----X Bred
---------------Bluetick
----------Bluetick
---------------Bluetick
Eligible for transfer above 80%
---------------Bluetick
----------Bluetick
---------------Bluetick
-----Bluetick
---------------Bluetick
----------Bluetick
---------------Bluetick

I've been good Roger! Chasing grand kids around & even an ole blue haired potlicker now & again. Those poor potlickers need an owner that hunts them more! Still have the Runnin Bullet x Jet V blood out back, & will continue to have as long as I'm able. I hope all is as well as it can be for you & yours down the Oklahoma way.
