No not in my opinion. If You already have a 50, no need yet to upgrade

Here is the thing. You are not going to buy a new DC 50 as they don't sell them anymore. You buy used and you have very limited warranty. You also have a minor bump in the road hooking DC 50's up to an ALPHA unless you have a 430 to get the ID number. They both work about the same but I would suggest the T5.

The problem with the T5 is that Garmin will probably discontinue them as well....and soon.
I bought the DC50 when it first came out and 2 months later they discontinued it......LOL.
