GRIZZLY IS A NICE YOUNG HOUND WITH A GOOD HOUND MOUTH THAT WILL GET UNDER A COON BY HIMSELF AND STAY WHILE THE OTHER DOGS ARE DOING WHATEVER. HE CAN TREE A COON OUT OF A PACK JUST AS WELL. THE CROSS GERT IS OUT OF IS FAMOUS AND FOR THE TRAITS LISTED ABOVE. DONNY WALSTON PUT THE HUNTIN ON GRIZZ AS A YOUNG DOG AND DID A FINE JOB. CHAD TOOK HIM AND MADE HIM DUAL GRAND IN ONE YEAR AND HE DIDN'T DO IT AT THE OUTHOUSE COON CLUB WITH NO COMPETITION. THIS DOG IS BRED TO REPRODUCE COONDOGS WITH THE CONFORMATION IT TAKES TO LIVE A FULL LIFE AS A PRODUCTIVE PART OF A COON TREEING OPERATION. I don't know Chad, Ron has been admiring and bragging on blueticks for years but still keeps hunting those walkers for some reason. I thought he was ready to change over quite a few years ago. I'm thinking it may be a low self-esteem issue,
where he doesn't think he deserves to own a bluetick or something on that order!

Good looking hound!!
I can see the Hillbilly x Lady influence in him. Very similar in looks and conformation to Tomme Hawk I used to have that was also out of a hillbilly x lady female!!

RONALD SCHULTZ IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ON THE SHEETING AND GETTING PART OF IT WHEN IT COMES TO GRIZZLY. I CERTAINLY HOPE THAT HE REPRODUCES HIS DESIRE AND HUNTING STYLE WHEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY. HE HAS THE ABILITY TO MOVE AROUND QUICK AND COVER ALOT OF GROUND IN A HURRY WITHOUT PASSING UP COONS. HE IS A HEAD UP WINDING TYPE DOG THAT WASTES NO TIME IN GETTING TREED ONCE HE OPENS HIS MOUTH. A TOP TRACK DOG, THAT HUNTS HARD, AND CAN SLIDE UNDER A SITTING COON IS A RARE COMBINATION IN MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES WITH COON DOGS. ANYONE WHO IS CONSIDERING THIS DOG IN THEIR BREEDING PROGRAM CAN CALL ME AS A REFERENCE.

THIS DOG WALKED MY GUTS OUT ON THIS FROZEN JANUARY NIGHT A FEW SEASONS AGO. HE WOULD HAVE BEEN 18-19 MONTHS OLD AT THE TIME.

P.S. CHAD - FOR RONALD TO SAY THAT HE WISHES HE WAS A WALKER IS A PRETTY GOOD COMPLIMENT IN MY OPINION. I HAVE FOUND THAT IT IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR WALKER MEN TO COMPLIMENT A GOOD BLUEDOG.
