hunting judge

Just curious to see how many people think that a judge should be able to hunt while judging a cast?

Me, It gives everyone a say in what is happening. Just draw a non hunting judge that doesn't have a clue and everyone else will have the same opinion. Also trust me there are plenty of crooked non hunting judges that hold grudges, are jealous and have buddies on other cast, or even the cast they are judging.

hunting judge is fine

With a hunting judge the majority vote rules..

With a non hunting judge it is only one person to make the call..

Absolutely hate a non hunting judge. Biggest mistake in competition hunting. I never have understood the purpose behind it. The only time we should use a non hunting judge is the finals of the world hunt when a dog has to hunt alone.

People accuse me of being color blind. The truth is I will hunt red ones, blue ones, black and white ones, yellow ones, black and tan ones, or even brindle ones; Just as long as they are English!

Without hunting judges there would be very few hunts. I remember when there was non-hunting judges and I hated it. Every hunt in your area you had to guide and judge and leave your hound setting and you would go to away hunts and many times there would be no one to judge or someone that did not want to and some that did it to help but they knew nothing about judging. Many clubs still have trouble just getting enough guides with no more hounds than they have today.

for the sports survival, it is the only way to have it. You could not find a non-hunting judge in my area to take a local cast.
