i would only hunt 1 at a time. i have no trouble with training more than 1 but cutting them loose together just make double trouble. actually more than double trouble they will feed off each other.

I'm only planning on hunting one at a time but as far as training them together with drags, and roll cage and such and taking them both in the woods to roam and get use to things...both pups are 4 months now

Your fine with pups that young I train them all the time like that and they sleep together in one big pen, pups are much more content together than alone. Each will need individual attention too. I have found that especially when they run loose in groups they start quicker. As they age and you start actually hunting them switch them out by alternating drops or nights. If you hunt hard it can be done, or by then you may have picked a favorite but have gave the other a good start by getting all the ground work out of the way and sell it and keep one.

For something like that your fine. It will actUally help them. On caged coons, and roaming out in the woods and things like that. But when you start taking it to the woods I would only take one at a time.

My Granny always said one boy is a boy, two boys is about half a boy,and three boys ain't no boy at all.

That applies to pups, Billy Coleman's training methods notwithstanding.

Raising a boat load of pups and getting em started is the easy part. aint hard to get 2 running and treeing cause you dont wanna take a pup every night anyway.
The problem is when they are doing it and ready to be hunted all night every night alone.
Most all of them once in a lifetime dogs had the hair literally hunted of em as juniors.
if you jus dabble in it it aint bad. you can hunt one one night and rotate em. but if you're serious about making a real deal outta a dog, one will be a full time job.
most people that keep 2 pups to raise and train eventually figure out they should of jus stuck with one.
Especially if you have a job and a family that doesn't live and breath solely in a world of coondogs with you.

Unless it is a necessity, I wouldn't do it.
