Feeder bucket alternatives?

feed for my buckets has went up over $5 recently, so trying to find other options. I know corn is choice for many but what else is out there. Is there anything like Coon Lix still out there? something that really dont feed on but keeps them coming by?

A friend of mine goes to a place where he gets all kinds of different candy that has fell off machines and they sweep it up in piles and sell it..has m&m's,reeces pieces,whoppers....etc...his buckets usually stay packed out with coons year round, also he goes to dunkin doughnuts once a week and he gets all the donuts and such that they are going to throw away and it also keeps coons packed out but bears get into the doughnut ones a lot..just something for you to think about

Never done it but I would think bread would work great in a feeder once you got them coming. I have a buddy that goes to the day old bread store and gets as much as he can pack in the bed of a pickup for 20$ i would maybe make the holes a little bigger so the coons can reach in farther to keep the bread settled to the bottom but they would surely eat it.

Google how to make molasses deer lick it's easy and cheap I found out they work better near a water source. I make them outside on my fish cooker be sure and don't use your wife's good cooking pot to make them in.

Someone on the coast of North Carolina sells peanuts that are not used for people to eat, I think by the ton. He has a add on Craig's list in the town I live in once in a while. I think he lives around New Bern, NC. You might check of Craig's list in New Bern, NC Go to the farm & garden section and type in peanuts and you should be able to find him if interested.

Went to the Craig's list site in North Carolina and it's listed as eastern NC. On the farm & garden section, one person has them for .12 cents per pound for raw peanuts and another has roasted peanuts for $ 20.00 per hundred pound bag.

Nite hunter you must know the place where my buddy gets his candy haha..and strokin he has buckets that have a small hole in the bottom about 3 inches in diameter and he just packs the doughnuts in and the coons will reach in and tear pieces off...I can probably get a picture if you would like but I'm sure you probably have a good idea of what I'm saying...

Not long, works best in a 55gal metal barrow, if you use plastic you will need to cover the hole with a piece of sheet metal or they will eat your bucket. 55gal with one 11/2 in hole will last two months.
