I'm not real sure what would be the oldest I've ever seen one do it for the first time but I will say "while we generally give a pup until it's second birthday before making any hasty decisions around here" I don't think I've actually seen a pup that wasn't at least treeing an easy one at 12 - 14 months old ever actually turn into anything I wanted to keep around. That of course is on pups that we started ourselves. If your talking about a dog that just was never fooled with I don't imagine there is an age that is "to old" IMO

treeing

ive had one tree his first coon at 1.5 years old. and the one i have now treed his first coon at 11 months old. Neither were pushed super hard, just ran with an older dog that treed coon.
