Anyone know where I can find opossum breaking scent? I've looked all over and can't find it anywhere.

I looked high and low and found the only 3 bottles left in existence I bought all 3 and my pup hasn't treed one since I might could be talked out of a bottle ! From what I understand national scent will not be making anymore ! 571-233-5819 hit me tommorow evening

Why not pull the bladder out put a little of the fat in it heat it up maybe a touch of water make your own I do it works jmo.

yeah, possum breaking isn't hard, just messy. Kill the possum, cut its belly open and tie it to the dogs head and very soon he wants no more possums.

You can do this in the back yard take a small peice of fur about 4" square put some of tars super possum sauce on it let the dog go when they find it and start to smell it say no and tap them with the collar every time you do it put it in a different spot it will work you can do the same thing with an armadillo.

Well, I figured out why I can't find opossum scent. There is a disease that is transmitted from the urine of the opossum (opossum urine is what breaking scent is made from) to the dog. Here is a clip from a veterinarian I found online. Thought it might be informative. "Leptospirosis is transmitted between animals through contact with infected urine; venereal and placental transfer; bite wounds; or the ingestion of infected tissue." From what I've read, this is some pretty wicked stuff. As far as the breaking process goes, the most effective way I've ever found to break a hound from ANY undesirable junk is in John Wick's "Tree dogs Encyclopedia - Vol. 1" (pg. 151-158). It'seems brutal, but it is VERY EFFECTIVE! With a few modernization adjustments (shocking collar instead of electric fence) it is very easy to do!
I guess all I need to do now is go find me a opossum that is willing to pee into a bottle! Happy hunting guys!

Hmm I have plenty of opossums at my farm ,I guess I could catch a few put em in a pen and catch there pee and make millions lol but we need a name I was thinking final 4

I got a dog that will round up all the possums you will ever want. I just got in from hunting him. Made 8 trees, 3 coon and 5 possum. Burnt him off every possum. Obviously the collar is not getting the message across. On the plus side, he is a accurate son of a gun!

Went hunting last night. Never ran a track, almost back to the truck and i seen eyes maybe about 50 feet from truck. Its a possum. Well the hound i had took off and jumped on it. I beat him off of it and of course you cant kill those things. Well i put the little thing out of his misery and took some rope out of the truck tied it to the possum and got the dog out. put the other end of the rope through his collar and tied it off. he walked off and that possum drawed up to his collar and he was trying to get it. Put the juice to him for several seconds. did this about three times. then i put the hound up and started home. Seen a possum cross the road and stopped to see what would happen. Cut the hound and you would have thought he was being shocked cut to the right and tried going around it. The best part of it was he didnt have a collar on. So i guess he related that sensation to the possum.

Ammonia works better i think but didnt have any on me.

Well granny is possum broke young dogs bumped them one and granny went amuck about midnight a mile and a half she had a coon treed she would not let me catch her forgot I had my tailgate down backed into a tree my tail gate is ruined I can't do nothing right no more lol.
