Bone Collecter

How old is Bone and how many pups does he have on the ground? Seems every second cast in Salem has a Backwater dog on it and they are huntin Bone too. Not many dogs that are bred as much as he has still get hunted esp in the hunts. I haven't had much experience with the Bone dogs but that's impressive.

I keep hearing about this dog. Lol . He is truly a living legend and will break all reproducing records before he's done. I think 99% of stud dogs are blown up to be more than they are adding to the mix.Bone is throwing more coondogs per litter than any stud I've seen, ever. They go hunting and tree coons not empty trees. I hope Doug gets plenty on ice .

Absolutely best stud dog of a generation. If everyone that posted a "What to Breed to..?" post just went and bred to Bone, the Walker Breed would jump ahead 20 years. Balance, independence, and scary accuracy.

X2

I've been on this horn for awhile. 2nd place ain't close.
There are a few good studs that throw good pups. But in 52 years of hunting Bone dogs are unreal and it absolutely doesn't matter what line of females you breed to him. Looks like his sons are reproducing as well. He's a genetic freak.

I bet Bone is 1 happy dog,Lol.
He has been bred to a pile of dogs other than hounds and from what i hear they are making great tree dogs, anyway you look at it Bone is a top stud dog that gets hunted hard and is going to leave his mark big time in the tree dog world.

Bone Collector best stud out there. Throws coondogs not coonhounds.

Cory has got it right! We have looked at 9 coons and 1 den in the last 10 trees with our about to be 3 yr old bone dog. Bone had 2010 pups when I registered our bone x curly pups a couple months ago. Still have a male and female avaliable out of that cross if anyone is interested.

I have one. A coon treer. No telling what he could do in thick coon. He's kinda warm nosed. Silent. Deadly accurate. Hunt about 8 or 9 hundred and come on back if he's not smelled one. I'm probably going to sell him though. I need a barker. From what I've saw. Bone dogs have coon. That can never be bad. I'd try another one tomorrow.

I like the fact you still see Bone being hunting in the hunts. Nothing to hide and not afraid for someone to see him go!

He is the real deal. Looking at that pedigree where does the seemingly dominant " tight mouthed" trait come from ? Are the Homer dogs known to be tighter mouth track dogs ? If so I've never heard that before and actually thought they were known to be just the opposite.

Medleys Homer and the Hubs Homer dog Jarvis Umphers had is the same dog right ?

Some call it tight mouthed but when you dominate nearly every cast your in with every last strike and every first tree with the coon what's that tell you about what everybody else has on their leash ?

Bone is not tight mouthed . The dogs I've hunted out of him weren't either but I hear that a lot. Honest is what I've seen .

Mine is stone silent. All but one night. I have no clue what he was after. Ended with a coon. He struck at 200. Ran it 800 just like a coon. Treed a coon. Has not made a ground bark since.

Every night I go hunting

I hunt with a Bone dog I will tell you all his bad traits "NONE" Not tight mouth , not mouthy ,not fussy around tree , handles like a dream and pretty accurate. and don't belong to me either NICE HOUND IN ANY WOODS. Has a little funny mouth that is all.
