Garmin alpha issue

Hey guys anyone ever had an issue with the charging port on the unit rusting? It's been this way for a few months but this morning I plugged it in to charge on 38% and when I checked it 30 minutes later it was down to 25%. Any remedies would be appreciated! Thanks joe

.

Joe your in a tuff spot with that plug bad. I know away around using the plug to charge your batter and that would be to buy one that the battery is removed from the ALPHA and charged by placing in the charger. The problem is if you use that plug for updates then you won't be able to do any.
You can call Garmin for 1-800-800-1020 and for around $150 they will send you an exchange unit.

You can see the charger I am talking about here.

Might try some contact cleaner on it. You can pick a can up at Wal mart or any auto parts store.
