do you stop hunting at night? It's 81 here now and I just decided it's too hot for the dogs. It's ok for me because I'm setting in the truck, w/o a/c. But I think they'll run themselves to death if they get on a fox or deer and they love deer more than chicken.

75 and humid. I was taking 20 min breaks between drops for the dogs to cool down the other night. 75s hot enough. I'm usually soaked after the first drop.

Your not hunting at 90 where I live with this humidity myself 75 is hot enough cause if it's 75 at my house in the open it is still 80 plus in the woods and with 70% plus humidity its almost unbearable !, along with thin coon coon and in my experience the coon here adjust there movement until couple hours before daylight so you will walk a long long way and might look at one coon !i usually leave these nights for young pups that won't run as hard as older dog when they are starting and they ten have a better chance to get on a hot track being hunted alone !!

As humid as it is here anything below 80 deg works. Hunt later and hunt the creeks. Dogs do fine if they are halfway in shape. Avoid corn and bean field chases if possible.
Coons are usually close to water and don't run too far. The key is hunting after 10pm.

In Oklahoma if you wait until its under 90 during the summer you won't hunt much.

It's never too hot here!! This heat and humidity is with us 7-8 months out of the year. I just keep the dogs lean and bring plenty of water.

Now ask me how cold in the winter and I'll tell u 40. I can't put enough clothes on to stay warm lower than that. Lol

The heat don't stop me I just hunt them on the river bottoms and small creeks but also work until midnight so its cooler by the time I cut loose
