Magazine ads

Im thinking of running a few ads on a dog Of mine in the near future.. I've heard from some guys that run ads regularly that they don't get much from running magazine ads anymore.. I know a lot depends on what you are advertising, but I wondered if magazines ads weren't as effective anymore since the Internet has taken over..

So, to the guys that run ads regularly, do you get much interest from your ads in magazines or does it mostly come from online ads?

Doug, I would say with any advertisement the answer to your question would be "What Market are you Targeting".

Marketing in todays world as made quite a few changes and there is a bunch of free marketing out there that can bring in good results.

FaceBook is an excellent place to start. You can post pictures and videos. People with hounds out of your hounds can also post their pictures and videos. I will say also that I think most of the younger generation is your market on Facebook but it does cut across a large age group. I think magazine ads are geared more to the older generation. By the time magazines come out most of the information and meaningful hunt results are on the internet.

If your going to go with one of the modern methods, FB or Message boards. Then be prepared to check them regularly and give feed back to questions. Magazines you generally only get phone calls.

Im 29. Guess im the younger generation. But the only online activity i do is ukc forums and texas holdem game. I hate bein online really. But i read every magazine from cover to cover. Guess i just hate technology. But i deal wit some that u just have to be silly not to use like garmins. But i highly enjoy the magazines. I dont even look at the ads on here. And i also have noticed that now more and more people look at phones and computer screens theyre eyes get bad. Iv noticed more and more people wit glasses. Back when i was a kid and only some adults had those nokia cells and pagers not nearly as many people had glasses. But now at a restaurants i look around i see more and more families all sittin at the table wit big lcd phone screens 6 inches from theyre face. I know thats not what ur askin for but i had to say it. Magazines also get store away in peoples houses. To only one day 20 years from now get pulled back out and enjoyed again. "Hey that stud in that ad ended up bein a top producer". Online they just get lost. And any advertisin is good advertisin. If its worth bein advertised.
