T-5 mini vs T-5.

Anyone using the mini's on coon hounds in hilly country. Was wondering how they compare to the reg t 5. I run beagles also so i went with the mini. I know battery life ain't as long, was just wondering bout the communication part.

I have both and have not noticed a difference in distance. As far as the battery goes just set it up to update slower and problem solved.

.

We migrated over to the mini's on our hounds and saw no difference in tracking ability. Our hunts are generally 4-6 hours so the battery life is no problem.

Here is the funny part and how each of us have personal preferences and those preferences really determine what we use. For some reason I have a difficult time strapping the 3/4 inch collar the mini has on my dogs. I went back to the full size color just for that reason. My dogs are trained to stand still when the dog box is opened and get collared up, but I just don't like the narrow collar.
