Bruce or Allen ?

Do you think that maybe it is not the rules need changing although I like the slam rules they are the way they were when I first started. But we always had non hunting judges back in the day for ntch and Grntch cast in today's world that might be 2 or 3 judges but it gave you a chance to learn the rules without the pressure of handling your dog at the same time usually if we had a cast that might get a little intense they gave it to me it taught me a lot plus when people come to your club you are supposed to host them. Might do some of the younger hunters some good.

Had UKC not done away with the requirement of non-hunting judges on champion casts I seriously doubt that there would be very many clubs still able to host hunts. Even now, many clubs struggle to put all their entrants out in the woods with competent guides and judges.

Not arguing with ya, just stating facts. I miss having non-hunting judges so you could concentrate on your own dog and what it was doing.

I know it's all good. But one suggestion say you have 20 members in your club have a meeting cook hamburgers or somthing get them to donate $20 a piece that's $400 have an added money hunt or give a big prize for the over all winner advertise it on here for free !! Let the young ones go judge a cast so they can learn the rules most grown ups would help them threw it but getting people to help most are just to busy (or somthing) then the next one you should have earned enough money to have it keep building it and more people will come put the pictures of the winners on here hype it up.

Rob the trend is everybody wants to hunt for money now so you can raise it just takes time and effort I had to not be as envolved in the club as I once was because of other responsibilities but I have always been good at raising money and prizes if anybody would like suggestions I would be more than happy to help but you got to start advertising it way ahead of time with face book and the forums being free there is no excuse not to everybody expects the kcs to do it for them it's not their job it's the clubs they need to take ownership in them !!
