Why Did Cruz Win?

Why did Cruz win BIG in Kansas and win convincingly in Maine?

It's the same reason he won Alaska, Iowa, and Oklahoma. Texas doesn't count because that was his home state.

The news isn't talking about it.

Any guesses??

Don't think so, that's already been debated. CNN reported the breaking news, then made the news about Cruz when he repeated it.

5 out of the 6 states Cruz has won so far were CLOSED primaries. Only Republicans can vote in a Republican primary.

Trump has dominated in races where Democrats are allowed to vote in the Republican primary, his big sweeps in states like SC, AL, GA, TN, were open primaries.

Washington Post analysis thinks that as many as 170,000 votes went to Trump in SC that were not Republican votes. "Democratic spoilers."

Take that democrat crossover vote away in SC with straight republican votes, and it would've been, Rubio: 165,881 Cruz: 164,790 Trump: 69,851

KY didn't go to Cruz but you could add it to the argument. Last real clear politics poll I seen for KY was Feb 29th and had Trump at 35% Cruz at 15%. Cruz ended up within 3.5%. If Rubio would get out Cruz would stomp the Trump, but it might be too late.

Yes, he absolutely lied in Iowa. Don't care if cnn, fox or who reported it . Cruz used the false information to help himself. He is a crook and can't be trusted. Cruz is no better than any other politician. He will use any propaganda to further his own cause.

I think America has awoken and can see right through the lying establishment.

By the way....I think the way Cruz, Trump and Rubio act during debates is absolutely childish and sickening. Kasich is the only adult on the stage but won't get a shot.

Actually the establishment would rather have trump then Cruz. Cruz is the most hated man in Washington. Even jimmy carter says he'd rather see trump the Cruz as president. That's saying something there.

Oh good grief, I could fill out 2 pages of Trump lies just in the last month. Unlike Trump this wasn't something Cruz made up, but his communications director repeated from a supposedly reputable news source. When it was determined that wasn't the case, Cruz apologized for something somebody in his campaign had done. CNN has never apologized.

Trump still is saying he would've won Iowa if not for that. Strange since every point Trump lost as the night went on, went to Rubio and caused Rubio to almost take over 2nd place. What's Trump's excuse on the last 5?

Means when you don't let Democrats vote for Trump, Cruz routinely beats him. I didn't even pay much attention to LA last night because they called it so early for Trump and Trump had a sizable lead. When the final tally was in Cruz had closed to within 4.

So Trump was supposed to sweep all 4 states going in, instead he lost KS by 25, ME by 13. He was leading both KY and LA by 15 and Cruz closed on both to within a few points.

Take Rubio out of the mix and Cruz would dominate in closed primaries.

I never said Trump wouldn't lie. But don't put Cruz on some pedestal like he is a God. Cruz is as big of a lying crook as any politician. Fact is he used false information for his agenda. Simple as can be.

I think another reason could be the intimidation factor, you know you could be in the caucus area, maybe people don't want to express their true feelings around their parents, friends , employer or pastor. That's the format Cruz has done real well in. But it's a two way street. Do people believe that democrats will not vote for a conservative, or better yet you can bet the farm that republicans voted for Obama. Need some crossover or you lose.

Fact is that information went out AS it was happening by his communications director who is responsible for such things. While the caucuses were forming. I highly doubt that at the time Cruz even knew anything about it, he said he didn't, and when it became clear after the fact that the news being reported wasn't accurate, Cruz apologized for his campaign.

Interestingly enough that communications director has since been fired for another below board tactic.

There's really no way for me or I think anybody really to know exactly why every Democrat voted for Trump. But it would invariably fall between 1 of 2 reasons. Either as a spoiler, or they kinda like Trump, and are thinking the worse case scenario would be they would have a choice between a democrat, and the closest thing to a democrat.

Fact is still he made a decision to use information he was given to further his cause. I don't care who gave it to him. And when did the Republican Party start using CNN as their source for information. Lol

Good talking points!
But they vote for sanders over hillary and will vote for A republican when they can cause Trump will win over Hill.

You do your best to convince us not to vote for Trump but not a word why we should vote for Cruz

This word "establishment" has come to mean anyone who opposes Trump. I saw yesterday that you deemed conservatives as "establishment" LOL! When the pope critized Trump, Limbaugh tried to say the pope was part of the establishment. The pope!!!LOL! All the while Trump biggest endorsement has come from of all people Chris Christie! The establishments poster child.

Allow me to give you a couple reasons to vote for Cruz.

1. He has fought in court for your second amendment rights!
2. He has fought by himself in congrss too stop Obamacare.

Cruz, has actions that can be observed. All anyone has observed from Trump is his mouth moving!

Meanwhile the only reasons ever cited for supporting Trump are.

1. He speaks his mind.
2. He's not part of the establishment.

Both those qualities apply equally as well to my drunk uncle! I could see ole uncle Buck late on a Friday night, standing, and proudly proclaiming were going too build a WALL, and make MEXICO pay for it!!LOL!!
