Big River Dan Male for sale-20 months old
Folks after much consideration I have decided to offer my young Male dog off Big River Dan and Thrasher's Lockdown Rose for sale. He just turned 20 months old on the 4th of March. I have owned him since he was 8 weeks old.
If one of your requirements is to be super independent, This dog is NOT for you. He is extremely smart and athletic. He is gentle as a kitten. He loves any/all dogs. He hunts on the run. But by himself he normally hunts in about 150-300 yards. He is semi-silent by himself, and a first strike dog and real open when hunted in company. He runs with a beautiful bawl mouth (in company) But seems to open here and there when hunted by himself. Usually when hunting by himself, if he goes beyond 300 yards you will hear him come treed somewhere between 400 and 800 yards. Right now he hunts by himself much like a cur dog. Alway moving on the run, 150-300 yards this way, then 150-300 yards that way, but will probably end up being a pretty big hunting dog as He has no reverse when dropped in company. He will be as deep as the deepest dog when hunted in company.
He is pretty clean when hunted with a straight dog, but this past winter I did see him run a couple tracks (by himself) that he didn't tree on. He would run them open mouthed for about 300 to 400 yards and then come straight back to me. I'm guessing it was probably a deer that he would bush, but he was always back to me in 15 minutes or less.
He is a Bawl mouth tree dog until you get to within the last 50 yards or so of the tree and then he will break it over into a chop. If its a red hot track and a bush coon he will chop on those trees but for the most part he is bawl mouth till you get almost all the way to him. He will also meet you off the tree on some trees, but he is getting tighter on the tree the more I hunt him by himself. I simple stop, grab a switch, and show it to him as he comes out to me and he returns to the tree and then starts chopping.
It is my belief that this dog is well suited for a pleasure hunter, as he is just not independent enough (for me) to run in competition.
This little dog has treed about 15 to 20 coon strictly by himself. Most of those were in December and January of this year. He has probably had 50-60 total coon shot out to him so he knows what is going on.
Folks the hard work is done on this little dog, he is now simply ready for the fine tuning. Call or text messages of interest to 740-504-4897 Cell, or my home number is 740-767-2572. I can then send you pictures and video's of him treeing. Price is 600.00
Thanks for reading.
