Won't stay

Got a 2 1/2 yr Bluetick , runs a track great and is accurate as hell, but won't stay treed as long as my friend Walker. She's a stay hard tree hard dog.I'm curious if he just can't stay excited enough to stay . Like I said if he's treed he's got the coon. But if it takes me 30 min or so to get to him he's gone and lookin for somethin else to open up on. And he's had plenty shot out to him and he hates a coon, so he doesn't stop til he's finished it off. So what do I need to do ?

Try and stay close to him when he trees tie him on the tree and you may need to let him tree awhile before you shoot it out.

Look at

the 'Leaving the tree when I get close' post. I agree with Moonshine, tie at the tree and shine and squall for a while (even if you see the coon as soon as you walk up) before you shoot it out.

leash him at every tree hes got a coon in and go sit in the truck and make him tree a hour or 2 then go shoot it out. do that for about a month and that will help a lot
