Just a little friendly advise. I had a female get down and lost a ton of weight very quickly. After not eating 4 days, she was so weak that I brought her inside to just keep her comfortable as I figured she was on her way out(she's 10 years old). Anyways, I keep cows colostrum frozen for bottle feeding newborn goats(we farm goats). Since I couldn't get the dog to eat anything and even tried bacon, chicken breast, and most anything you can think of, I decided to give her some colostrum(she's been drinking fine) using a large oral syringe that I use on goats. Anyways, it's been 5 days of colostrum and that dog has made huge improvements and started eating canned dog food again today. This is from a dog that had gotten so weak that it couldn't stand and I was going to put her down and write it off as old age! Not sure why she stopped eating, and it may come back again as an issue, but for now I'm extreemly glad I had colostrum to get her turned around. I get it from a dairy farm, but see you can also get it online, so wanted to reccomend people to keep some of hand incase your hound ever takes a turn for the worst etc.
