Beagle / Black Mouth Cur mix?

Hi, I've been trying to figure out if my pup might be a Beagle/BMC mix. I've been on other forums where the opinions have been overwhelmingly yes. However, what I really need to know is if his mouth would be completely black even in a mix. The roof is and the rest is kind of a mix. I kind of figured this would be the forum for an "expert" opinion & information. Below are several pictures of him. If you can set me straight I'd be very grateful, not that it matters since I love him to death, but it might be good to know and of course I'm very curious about it. I apologize if the pictures don't come out right, I was a little confused about how to post them. He's about 9 months old in these pictures, 33 lbs, 17" at the withers. He's extremely fast and agile and also quite a cuddler. When I read the BMC description it sounds just like him. He doesn't act like my Beagle much at all. I got him from a shelter in Rutledge Tennessee so it all seemed to make sense. However, I'm in Chicago so I don't know much about it. Thanks,

Well, yes I understand that. I'm just looking for opinions. My vet doesn't think that the DNA test is very reliable in her experience so I may or may not spend money on that. I'm just curious and I've had so many people mention it I thought I'd run it past people who seem to really know these dogs.

Looks like you could be right. I don't know what he is but he needs to be taken to the city parks and shown some squirrels. If he takes an interest...GREAT! Pet and praise. Good luck,Mike.

Thanks for your reply Mike, I'd given up on getting any feedback on this forum.

Have you been to the woods with him yet? How's he getting along?

Hey Mike, no I haven't but honestly I don't even know what I'm looking for. I would think most dogs would be interested in squirrels and any other animals they see.

Do you have a Black Mouth Cur? Can you give me some insight on their behavior? We met two groups of little kids this week end and I was relieved to find that he was friendly and didn't bite. Thanks, Lisa
