His dog had a lighted collar and was in the peoples yard treed, it took a year or 2 to get thru the court system. One thing for sure he must be arrested for cruelty to animals by the local humane society, here it is illegal to shoot any ones dog ,without specific proof of injury ( photos , ect. ), a dog chasing livestock without injury will not cut it here, If they do produce the proof of injury, the humane society can still fine them for cruelty, here that fine is up to $10,000.
X-2 for David's response.
In pa it is illegal to shoot a dog you are right there . It is in the hunting manual. Even if a dog is chasing game and/or livestock. Most people think they can shoot a dog of it is chasing game but that is wrong.
I'm sorry to hear about the loss of these dogs. I hope they can get some justice
Last year my son was walking out of some woods he had permission to hunt in and some homeowner shot at him. Bullet went by so close he heard the whine of it. The homeowner didn't want anyone in those woods that he didn't own. So he shot at my son then called the landowner. When
all was said and done that homeowner ended up wishing he had just gone to bed.
