I received word from Lonnie's son Jeremy late lastnight that Lonnie had passed away. He was a good friend and good to the bluetick breed. He will be missed.

Very sorry to hear this. Lonnie was responsible for breeding some of the very ELITE that our breed has ever had.

Lonnie was and always will be something special to the bluetick world. The man who was behind all the Rambo bred dogs of today. I always enjoyed talking to him over the years at hunts and on the phone. My deep sympathy and prayers to the Lonnie Smiley family from me and all the bluetick world.

Heck of a guy and will certainly be missed. I was fortunate to get several nice pups from Lonnie over the years .One was the nicest dog I ever snapped a lead on. Thanks for what you did for blue dogs and r.i.p. old friend.
