You need to talk to Mr Rob Farr. Gr Nt Ch Soggy Bottom T-Top Midnight Haze has a whole lot of Chief blood in him. One of his direct son's was Turpin's Ks Thunder so Razor Red has some Chief blood in him. Hoffmeister's Rusty Red has a lot of Chief blood in him.

Chief was by Ace. Ace was by Bakers Rip. Rip was by Timber Chopper.

I'm not sure but I think Timber Chopper got off Noah's Ark and was started by Richard Lambert.

Hennings Chief

I owned 2 dogs out of Hennings Chief and have worked with some folks in Indiana that have lined bred Chief for the last 25 years plus, shoot me a pm or call me I would love to tell you what I know. Thanks John

I owned "Grnitech Ch Woods Red Chooper" who was a nice hound.

One of the best reproducers out of Chief was
NtCh CH Hennings Majic Woody.

Danny, what about the females out of Chief. "I think" that is where a lot of the Chief blood in todays hounds comes from and where he made his big contribution. But then I have always been a ladies man.

Chief

Was an Iowa dog owned by Bob Henning who is from NE Iowa. Chief was out of Ace and a Woodpecker bred female.

My first Redbone had Magic Woody in his 2nd Generation and also had Tonto.

Rambo----

Got to hunt with him a few times. He was under a year the first time and did a nice job. Good mouth and nice tree hound.

I did get to talk to Bob and did a write up on Chief a few years back, he did put a lot of tree power in his pups, be it from Ace or Woodpecker?? Bob told me he had feet as "flat as a pancake." But he produced pups that won on the bench! Some of the off spring did need a lesson on not to give "government goats" workouts--but Terry told me that Old Ace would do it even into his later years.

His blood is in a lot of the Reds today and what I seen in Rambo, it's nice to have.

Here is what I remember about Chief. Terry Hayes crossed Ace with Debbie and Chuck Kingsolver from Pleasant Hill, Missouri ended up with a pup. The pup started easy and was treeing good and Terry got him back. Terry worked with him and finished him out and sold him to Dennis Gummert and then Dennis sold him to Bob. The rest is history. I remember Chief as a tremendous treedog. He didn't say a lot on the ground but opened good enough. He was a real nice hound. I had bred my Kate female to Ace a couple of times and this cross really worked. When Ace died I looked for a son of Ace to breed her to and I picked Chief. This cross worked pretty well too. Richard I think you ask about females out of Chief. The cross between Kate and Chief produced Grand Nite Champion Hoffmiesters Red Brandy. She was a female Harold really liked. Chief was a good hound that produced real good treedogs.
