Good Club with lots of History at Mid-Western CHA Keota, OK

Reprinted from the UKC webpage in 2006:

The Local Club - "Where Everybody Knows Your Name" Regardless, of all the prizes and money that may be up for grabs at the major events these days, there is still nothing quite like a Friday or Saturday night at your local coon club. Sure, the recognition for a winner at the major event is super, but the fact is, you just can't quite get that down-home atmosphere you get at the local club. You walk in the door and everyone acknowledges your presence with a "look what just walked in!". You walk over to the little table in the corner, dig two quarters out of your pocket and drop 'em in the styro-foam cup and pour yourself a cup of stiff coffee and before you can sit down a young man comes up with a roll of tickets and tells you that your best chance is the "six for five". We at the UKC would like to extend a huge thanks to all the local club officers and members around the country for all they do in allowing us all to enjoy and compete at these local events "where everybody knows your name".
The following is a list of clubs who had great numbers in 2006 that we would like to recognize. The stats are based on average numbers per event. These numbers do not include events other than their own club dates. For several years in a row the Keota club has been ranked second in the state of Oklahoma only taking a backseat to the the number one club which is the Pontotoc County Coonhunters' Association at Ada, OK.

Mid-Western Coonhunters' Association will be having a hunt and show Oct. 23 and we would like to invite everyone out to show and hunt.

Directions: Hwy. 26, turn south. Go 3 mi. and turn east. Go 3/4 mi. Club on left side of road. Signs posted. Contact John Kirby (918) 640-9150 or Jeff Lovell (918) 839-3066
Oct 23 BS 6:00pm, $10 NH 2hr 7:00pm, $15
