Puppy problem

I recently bought a new walker pup. Brought him home, i let him ride up in the cab of my truck instead of the dog box. I gave him a bath with sergeant's puppy fle and tick shampoo like i always do. The pup is nine weeks old and acts real good. The first week i had him everything was fine, i talked with the owner before i gave him any feed so there would be no change in diet. I keep all my pups inside in a crate for several weeks just to get them used to the family and make sure he is ok. I clean the crate before i put him in it with clorox water then rinse several times. Never had any problems before. My problem is this he has developed a rash on his belly and he is constantly scratching. This just started so i dont know what could be causing it. I gave him half of a 25 mg benadryl tab the vet told me to but it isnt clearing up. I bathed him again with just warm water thinking he may have had a reaction to the shampoo but still not clearing up. No fleas at all on him and he is still inside. Any help or suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Puppy pyoderma is not uncommon. My vet gives "Dermalog" cream.

I would try and bath him with straight dawn dish soap. If there is a film from the other flea&stick shampoo it should take it away.

Oatmeal bath will help soothe it.
