Dominance

I have a 4yr old pit(MALE)3yr old American bulldog (female) 2yr old redbone(male). They all get along good never really had any dominance issues with any of the three. Last night my cousin came to stay the night and brought his 5mth old boykin puppy(male). None of my dogs see a lot of other dogs so as soon as they seen the puppy they all did the usual smelling and probably scaring the puppy half to death. So they all got aquainted except for my redbone, he walked around stiff legged, tail and head held high trying to mount the puppy every chance he got. My pit would get in between them and anytime my redbone would get close to the puppy my pit would mouth the redbones muzzle and make him lay down. I put my pit up and figured my redbone would soon quit trying to mount the puppy. He tried it the whole night following the puppy around whining some and trying to mount him anytime he got. Anyone ever had a dog act this way towards a puppy?
