Squalling / Shine Time?

If a judges give a handler permission to squall prior to the 7 minutes being up is said handler scratched even though judge said it was ok?

Yep, judge doesn't have the right to overrule UKC rules, the judge could tell you to go ahead and squall, he didn't care and then turn around and scratch you and when you question him and say you said go ahead I don't care, he could tell you I don't care but UKC does. It is cruel but I have heard of it happening.

Judge should be barred for not showing honesty and integrity.

On a side note, is UKC ever thought about changing that rule

Well, even though many agree...UKC wont bar him for that. He should absolutely not be allowed to judge any more casts by that club, as well as any other clubs in the area. If a judge pulls that stunt at a hunt I am MOH for he will be scratched for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Everyone always wants to know why attendance is down at hunts...this may not be the primary reason, but I would bet that poor, unfit or unfair judges are in the top three. The sad thing is that many clubs, after being told what the judge they assigned did, will put him in the woods with another cast the next night.
Was the victim of something similar once...dogs split up and trailed off different ways. I called my dog treed and so did another handler...the judge said go to your dogs and wait for me, I am going with this other guy to see where his dog is. He then comes to our tree and scratches us. We go back to the club and the MOH rules in my favor. There is enough time to go back out and this idiot insist that he remain the judge and what does the MOH do??? He okay's it!!!! Unbelievable.
