Man boys.....yall blew this up.....haha
I couldnt believe this dog has been hidden all these years like this.
Doug......so glad to hear yall are getting a shot of this. With what yall have to offer in this cross, it should make them dual purpose folks drool.............With yall having that spring creek radar stuff in your hounds through Rowdy, you are just adding about 10 shots or more of it right on top of already a stacked and loaded deck with yalls gyp.
what about it Cleo....You excited about this cross or what?
Adam, your name came up in several conversations as I was doing my investigation and research. I heard some real kind stuff about you. Heard you were a good dude and told it like it was.
That encouraged me even more knowing someone that had a eye for a hound had the nice things to say that you did.
Yep Eric I am going to fill North Miss. up with it. Got one gyp from down this way that belongs to a friend booked for the spring breeding season and got another one belonging to another friend I am having to do some campaining to get him to change. He has a free breeding to a major stud so if I can get him to switch, I would say thats a pretty good lick for Ole Drifter.
I know this, this is as solid a bloodline of a coondog that I have ever seen. I dont care how many world championships and trucks a dog has won, DNA and pedigree and the ability to reproduce is the final verdict on how their pups will turn out. The pedigree is solid with old foundation stock that produced every stud everyone else is breeding to. Everybodys dog pretty much goes back to Finley River chief, Spring Creek Rock, Merchants Banjo II and Houses Chief. If you go to the walker foundation website and do your homework you will find all those dogs stacked up right off this pedigree like cord wood!!!!!
I have seen some pics of Drifter just standing on the chain and for a 6 coming 7 hound he is nice looking with good legs and feet and a head to die for. man you can see that old spring creek Rock and the old Buffalo River/Finley river head on him. It is beautiful.
Like all Rock/Radar hounds, those blood red heads start turning white at 4 or 5...drifter is fading quick, but you can see that old blood red back in there.
Thanks for all the replys and comments. I am sure Dennis appreciates it. He is a real nice guy with a pretty special hound. I believe old Drifter is fixing to have a whole bunch of girlfriends real soon.
If anyone is a serious breeder and not a weekend breeder who is just breeding for money and wants to help us get our walker hounds back on track you need to get real serious and give this hound a shot.
Eric, I know you are as hard a hunter as there is and when you told me that the direct son of Chainsaw was the best coondog you ever turned loose, I knew I was on the right track. I owe you a bunch for getting me in touch with Dennis and doing all the leg work. You deserve ALL the credit for the discovery.
I am just trying to help a nice guy get some blood on the market that I really believe in.
I make no bones about it. Spring Creek Radar was the best stud dog that ever lived in my humble opinion. Drifter goes back to him so many times I cant even count them all. AND...he goes back to Spring Creek Rock, Radar's daddy even multiple more times.
Like I said, when I saw this pedigree it blew my mind. I answer questions all the time about line breeding and how to line breed etc. I have been a breeder of the same line for over 30 years and feel like I am qualified to answer those questions. There are folks that think they know how to line breed, but are line breeding on the wrong dog or line of dogs.
Drifter is line bred better than any hound I have ever seen. Period. case closed.
Give Dennis a call and get on board. Lets finally get some track dogs with some sense and balance to them back on the ground.
He mite have a pup or two for sale. If you are serious. give him a buzz. I believe these will be very valuable pups once they hit the ground.
