Some how this young lady ended up in my kennel. I was introduced to her back in April when Ron Behne asked if I would let her run loose here where I live for a month. She acted just like a pup, but she was three years old. Not running track or treeing, just following you thru the woods. But someone did put the time in to earn a CH show title on her. After the month was up I met Ron for a hunt to return her. She was doing pretty much the same thing she'd done the month prior. Ron indicated that he was pretty close to giving up on her, so I offered to take her when he did. She went back home with me that night. But things were very different for her when she got back home. I started a hard pressured program to get her out of the habit of packing along with me during a hunt. She was not allowed to come in to me at all. She was put on live coon thru out the month, and taken to the woods every night until she showed progress. Then laid up for a night or two, and pushed hard till more progress was shown. Her tree style reminded me of Spartans when he was a young pup starting out. When she is on a hot track and tree's she rap's them off and throws slobber all over. I petted her up one night on the tree and it was like she went into turbo drive chopping. She's not finished by no means, never run off game, but from what I've seen in her so far made me decide to find her a stud dog, when she came into heat unexpectedly this month. Just to see if there is any Spartan left in her blood line. I originally had planed to use her to raise Fiest Bluetick puppies, but it turns out she may have more coondog in her than anyone previously believed. So..... I narrowed down several stud dogs I wanted to see her crossed on and decided to go with Mr. Jon Waltz' Coontree Joker. Me and Jade took a drive up to see Jon and Joker this weekend. And left with what hopes to be a new generation of Joker and Jade puppies. As of now I plan on keeping the pups until spring. But things could change in September, I may pick one or two and let the rest go. Any way, I'll be watching for her to start showing by the end of the month. Thanks Jon and Joker for your hospitality!
