Thoughts on naming dog?

What is your thought on naming a dog with your last name in the dogs name, versus not naming the dog with your name in the dogs name? Why name the dog after a creek,or river? Which way is best for a dog to be named if i grand it out,and want to sell it?

I think it's entirely a matter of preference. I used to use the name of our business in front of my dog's name but I got tired of seeing work in everything LOL Then I started using my last name. I'm not a breeder but If you were a breeder there is where I think you would especially want your last name in there to show it's your line.

My buddy just passed on a nice dog (from what I heard) because it was finished in someone's name. Wouldn't make a difference to me but does to some. If you're planning to sell I'd go with the river or creek name instead of your name . Imo

When you get a coma bred dog you can name it after me even if I didn't breed the dog and I won't be mad at you .

Both my First and Last names are used by other breeders. So to respect them I have to use another name.

Most of the time if someone uses a creek or river its named after the creek or river that they hunt on most of the time.

When someone buys a pup off of me I don't care what they use as the name, but it is an honor when they add my kennel to the name.

I'm joking around.Wouldn't that be the pits trying to write that name in the space they give you on most forms?
I've decided to use a kennel name because of the breeding thing. That way if i do breed good dogs, people will know by the name where to get a good pup from.

name

I used the Cowee Creek name for my female because she is heavy top and bottom. Probably should have been born with 2 tails or something she is so tight lol. She is PR Fox's Cowee Creek Splash. I wanted the name to carry on if she does good and produces good. Got a first on her so far. She trees coons for me so I am pleased with her. Maybe nobody is offended. I name em by how they are bred or what they look like they should be called according to me. That's all anybody can do

naming dogs after the original breed or line is more of an honor thing than anything else. It helps identify lines as well. I did not start Amazing Cur Kennels, but I hunt the line and breed this line, so out of honor of their hard work I use the name.

Who cares

Name it whatever you want but until they start paying my feed, gas, water and vet bills ill name them whatever the heck I want. If you name them after someone elses kennel and they dont like it then who cares read the first sentence I wrote.
