.

I spent about 30 minutes in tractor supply Tuesday looking at all the flea sprays and dips. I seen several I would have chosen over the powder. For the first time in 40 years I have some 8 week old pups that have fleas. I was looking for something for them and everything sold said not to use on a puppy under 12 weeks of age. I have some Sentry wash I use on some Yorkies and he works good.
I mentioned to my buddy this morning about maybe just washing the pups in Dawn and he said he had a buddy wash a pup in dawn and it got real sick. I may just put up with the fleas a few more weeks.

Bruce, I Googled "8 week old puppies with fleas" and it took me to a site called Dog Chat. They said on there that the only thing to use on puppies 6 weeks or older was Dawn. Bath in Dawn, pick off what is left then comb with a flea comb. But asking about Dawn is prolly akin to asking about Ivermectin.

Washing pups can be a tricky thing. They still aren't efficient at generating their own heat. They are able to generate their own heat at 6 weeks, but they aren't great at it.

If I was going to wash pups, I would consider getting help. One person wash the pup, and the other to dry the pup. Then have a heating lamp to sit them under after drying.
