Here's an idea, when these hunts started here locally' they had a couple of "well known" hunters and bench show folks, give the classes. The events stated early, had one before lunch and one after; the clubs donated food and drinks, and the kids made a day of it. Now, they have shortened the whole event to a required class and the show and hunt, all wound up into a quick little ball. Why not make the event longer, try to get the kids to participate and actually get something out of the experience. Attend the State Youth Hunt at Stigler, these guys put on a great event; it's an all day event and the kids and adults all get something from it, even if they don't do well in the hunt. The last time I was there, they had fifty kids and dogs on the bench and fifty kids and dogs in the woods. Every thing in life has rules and consequences; we all have to learn to deal with them. Tom
